Key features:

• Coverage: Death of birds due to accidents (including fire, lightning, flood, cyclone, earthquake, strike, riot, and terrorism) and diseases.

• Eligibility: Exotic and cross-bred layer birds, broiler birds, and parent stock (hatchery).

• Minimum flock size: Varies based on the type of bird and age group.

• Age groups:

  • Broilers: 1 day to 8 weeks

  • Layers: 1 day to 20 weeks, 21 weeks to 72 weeks

  • Hatchery Birds (Parent Stock): 1 day to 72 weeks

• Sum insured: Peak value of the birds (INR 45 for broilers and INR 75 for layers).

• Premium rates: Based on the peak value of birds.

• Excess: Applicable as per policy terms.

• Discounts: No claim discounts and good feature discounts are available.

Major exclusions:

• Malicious injury, neglect, improper management, natural mortality, unspecified diseases, undergrowth, cannibalism, predators, theft, and consequential loss.

• Intentional slaughter, except for humane reasons or by order of a lawful authority.

• Loss of production (failure to lay the required number of eggs or attain proper weight).

• Marek’s disease, Ranikhet disease, Fowl Pox, and Infectious Bronchitis (unless successfully inoculated).

• Avian leucosis Complex (A.L.C.), war, invasion, nuclear perils.
